Nicole Aiello is responsible for keeping Santee Cooper’s customers informed and, every once in a while, you may see her face on the local news (not for anything illegal!). After paying her dues in the Big Apple, Nicole decided sun, sand and surf were preferable to shoveling snow, so she made her way to South Carolina. Nicole’s professional experience ranges from the celebrity and entertainment industry to tourism, nonprofit and government communications. Nicole, who holds a bachelor of science from Ohio University’s Scripps School of Journalism, currently calls Murrells Inlet home. Her favorite saying is, “Don’t forget to read your bill inserts!”
Mollie Gore is Santee Cooper’s director of public relations. She has worked in PR since 2001, first in the education arena and since 2007 at Santee Cooper. Although she enjoys the South Carolina lifestyle very much, especially in January, she is from Virginia and spent a dozen years as a reporter for the Richmond Times-Dispatch, covering business, politics and special projects. She graduated from Emory & Henry College with a degree in English. Mollie and her family live in Summerville.
Jay Hudson is Santee Cooper’s manager of Environmental Management and has been with the state-owned utility since 1987. He serves on the American Public Power Association’s Clean Air Task Force, the New Generation Task Force and is co-chairman of the Large Public Power Council’s Environmental Task Force. Jay has published several articles on pollution topics, is a member of the American Chemical Society and is a registered Professional Engineer in South Carolina. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Engineering from the University of South Carolina with an emphasis in water resources and environmental engineering.
Elizabeth Kress is a Principal Engineer working in renewable energy as a developer of biomass and solar projects. Liz has been instrumental in increasing Santee Cooper’s renewable generation and has also been involved in the feasibility work on offshore wind for South Carolina. She graduated from Lehigh University with a BS in Metallurgy and Materials Engineering and has an MBA from the University of South Carolina. Liz’s favorite things in life are her daughter, Clara, family, blue birds, yoga, dog (April), cat (Marlo) and her flower gardens.
Kevin F. Langston has been with Santee Cooper’s department of Corporate Communications since July 2006. From Georgetown, S.C., he graduated in 2001 from the University of South Carolina’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications. Kevin now lives in Summerville, where he obsesses over his dog, Brady, his iTunes and Kindle libraries, his Netflix queue, his beloved Gamecocks, the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, and the perfect cup of coffee.
Kenneth C. Sandiford is manager of Santee Cooper’s customer care center and has a combined 19 years of service with the state-owned utility. Ken was born in Columbia, S.C., and attended North Carolina A&T State University on an athletic scholarship. He graduated in 1993 and received his master’s degree from Webster University in 1995. Ken resides in Horry County, where he enjoys the coastal region of Conway and Myrtle Beach.
Willard Strong joined Corporate Communications in 1989 after a four-year stint as a features reporter at The Post and Courier. A 1981 graduate of USC’s College of Journalism and Mass Communications, the Kingstree native has served as news director at three radio stations, was editor of the weekly newspaper in Moncks Corner and is chairman of the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center Board of Directors. A boating enthusiast, he enjoys Gamecock football, lake life on Lake Marion’s Wyboo Creek and keeping his five guitars in tune.
